INSTRUCTIONS FOR FORMING YOUR Thermoform Trays for use with Tooth Whitening Gel.

Before you start these steps, you must practice the sucking action technique with your mouth trays. You get 1 chance on making your moldings. If make a mistake you can sometimes get another try. Please do 1 tray at a time. Start with the upper teeth. Wash and rinse your upper trays. Leave it wet so you can get a feel of this technique. Place the wet tray over your upper teeth. Now close your mouth and seal your lips shut so the stem of the tray is sticking out of your mouth. Now perform a sucking action like sucking threw a straw. Make sure your lips are tightly sealed. You will notice the tray is trying to stick to your teeth with this vacuum method. Now practice on the lower teeth. Remember this technique because this is how you will be molding your trays once place in hot water. You may now start your steps.

STEP 1:

Boil a pot of water and then remove it from the heat. Submerge your mouthpiece into it for 6 seconds.  You will see the mouthpiece begin to wilt.

NOTE -  Keeping the mouthpiece submerged too long will cause it to shrink.

STEP 2:

Place the mouthpiece into your mouth, close your lips tight and perform the sucking action as you practiced before.

STEP 3:

NOTE - You will only need to conduct the boil and bite procedure once for each mouthpiece, not each time you conduct your whitening session.

STEP 4:

After you have formed your Whitening Trays, your trays are ready for use.

BEFORE STARTING TREATMENT- Brush you teeth well with water and baking soda. Do not use tooth paste. Brush for at lease 2 minutes. Then dry your teeth with tissue paper.

Squeeze Whitening gel into the front of your mouthpiece. Do not over fill it. Place a small bead size of gel in every tooth impression and use a q-tip to smear it over the entire impression. A very thin layer is all that is needed. Less is best! All  you need is a thin layer of gel covering all your teeth impressions.Place mouthpiece over your teeth for 30 minutes. Rinse the trays under water, then dry. Repeat this process for both upper and lower teeth. Continue doing this twice per day until teeth have reached desired shade of white.

STEP 5:

(for plasma kits only)

If you are using a plasma light source you must follow STEP 4 and use the light source on the first 15 minutes of the each 30 minute procedure. Simple shine the light directly on your teeth for the first 15 minutes. For the next 15 minutes you may close your mouth since the light is not needed.

Tip: You can use cotton swabs stuffed under your lips and gums to help keep your teeth exposed.

Whitening Tips:

  • You can avoid gum irritation by cutting your mouth trays along the gum line. (just above the moldings of your teeth) This will produce the exact shape and contour of  where your teeth meet the gum line. Your trays should now have ONLY your teeth impressions and cap over your teeth without touching your gum line.

  • If your teeth are too sensitive during this procedure we suggest brushing once in the morning with a desensitizing tooth paste such as Sensodyne. Then brush again after every full daily treatment. Once your treatment if fully completed, the sensitivity will go away permanently.

  • If teeth whitening is a little slow even after 2 weeks, we suggest 2-3 overnight treatments.  They should be done every 2nd or 3rd day, never 2 days in a row. If you have a plasma light, we suggest to use it for 20 minutes before your overnight treatment. When you are doing overnight treatments, daily treatments are not recommended.

  • REMEMBER, less gel is best. All you need is a thin layer in each tooth impression. Use a little paint brush or ear swab to lightly brush it on. If you put to much it will just leak out and become useless. Gel is expensive so try not to waist it.

  • Using your mouth trays during the plasma light procedure is recommended. It will keep the gel in place and the light will pass through the mouth trays. Another alternative is to brush the gel directly on your teeth. We find this a little harder and cotton swabs must be used in the inner lips and gum line to keep your lips forced open.

  • Make sure you brush you teeth well with water and baking soda before you apply the gel. Do not use tooth paste. Brush for at lease 2 minutes. Makes sure that your teeth are dry when you apply the gel on your teeth. Use tissue paper for this.

Do NOT smoke, drink or eat while bleaching your teeth. It is NOT recommended to bleach your teeth if you're pregnant or nursing.

Expected whitening time: On average it takes 1 week to achieve your maximum whiteness. Depending on how badly stained your teeth are, it can take up to 2 or more weeks to achieve maximum whiteness.

Dental Work: Tooth Whitening (bleaching) gel will only whiten natural teeth. It will NOT bleach (whiten), nor harm any dental restorations.  Exposed root portion of teeth which occurs with gum recession will also not bleach. If you have amalgam (silver) fillings in, near or behind the front teeth, long term bleaching can cause the surrounding tooth to have a greenish tinge. Bleaching teeth which have a lot of translucency (see thru) can cause the teeth to become even more translucent and may give the tooth a darker appearance. It is important to consult a dentist if you have any of the above concerns.

Sensitivity: Your teeth or gums will most likely become sensitive. This is common while using all products containing peroxide based gels and it is not harmful. In case of increased sensitivity reduce usage time and/or frequency until the sensitivity subsides.

DENTAL WHITENING GEL SHOULD BE REFRIGERATED FOR LONG TERM STORAGE. Shelf life is 2 years.

Getting to know your handheld plasma tool:

Before starting oped the battery case and remove the battaries. Remove the paper disk from the bottom contact. now replace battaries in the same direction they were taken out.

Now your plasma light is ready to use. To turn on the light pish the white button in the center. To turn it off push it again.

Procedure:

1. Make sure you brush you teeth well with water and baking soda before you apply the gel. Do not use tooth paste. Brush for at least 2 minutes. Makes sure that your teeth are dry when you apply the gel on your teeth. Use tissue paper to dry your teeth.

2. REMEMBER, less gel is best. All you need is a thin layer in each tooth. Use a little paint brush or ear swab to lightly brush it on. If you put to much it will just leak out and become useless. Gel is expensive so try not to waist it.

3. Place plasma light in mouth. The button of the light should be facing the ceiling. This is the correct direction. If the button is facing down you placed the unit upside down and it will not be as conferrable. Now wrap your lips around the unit so that the clear portion id inside the mouth. its okay is the plastic surface is touching your teeth. The unit is light enough the it can be suspended without the need of holding it. So you can walk around and to whatever you want while you wait for the procedure to be completed. Keep in your mouth for 30 minutes. Then rinse your mouth WELL and dry your teeth and repeat one last time.

Light will turn off after 15 minutes. Just push the button again for another 15 minutes.
