Is Bleaching An Option For Me?

Consider tooth bleaching if your teeth are darkened from age, coffee, tea or smoking. Teeth darkened with the color of yellow, brown or orange respond better to lightening. Other types of gray stains caused by fluorosis, smoking or tetracycline are lightened, but results are not quite as dramatic. If you have periodontal disease, or teeth with worn enamel, your dentist may discourage bleaching.

Why Aren't My Teeth Whitening Evenly?

Generally the biting edges and the sides of the teeth whiten more quickly than the rest of the teeth. This is due to the enamel being thicker in these areas and responding faster to the whitening process. As you continue to use the tooth whitening system, the rest of your teeth will catch up and the color will even out.

What Results Should I Expect?

Every case is different. Typically, there is a 6- 8 (8-10 shades with Plasma Light treatment) shade improvement as seen on a dentist's shade guide. The success rate depends upon the type of stain involved and your diligence of use. However, bleaching does not lighten artificial materials such as resins, silicates, or porcelains.

Are There Any Side Effects?

Some patients may experience slight gum irritation or tooth sensitivity, which will resolve when the treatment ends. There is no teeth sensitivity when the plasma light method is used! You should not use this product if you are pregnant, have periodontal disease, wear braces, had recent oral surgery, have gums in poor health, have roots that are exposed, have colitis, or have jaw problems. Are Those Over The Counter White Strips Any Good?

No! They cause yellowing in between your teeth! They will only whiten the surface of your teeth and not in between. They are also very weak in Carbamide Peroxide.
